St Patrick's Athletic defender Stephen Brennan thinks that the club learnt some valuable lessons from last season after finishing as runners-up.
The Super Saints are currently soaring high at the top of the Premier Division table and have collected the same amount of points that they had at this stage last year.
Brennan is fully aware that they need to keep that run going and avoid the slump that caused them to slip off the pace last season and allow Drogheda United to storm ahead.
With a stronger squad and that bit more experience, Brennan is convinced that the team have become a stronger unit and they know exactly what they have to do.
"We said at the start of the season we wanted to at least equal the points total we got for the first phase of games," Brennan told the Irish Sun.
"But we only got thirteen points in the middle last season. That was disappointing and we ended up finishing second by just seven points.
"We know we need to do better this time though it hasn't really been spoken about.
"Everyone is just very positive about what we've done so far and we have to do in the next few games."
