RTÉ TO SCREEN EVEN MORE DOMESTIC SOCCER

RTÉ Television has confirmed a 50% increase in its live Airtricity League coverage as part of its commitment to domestic Irish soccer for the coming season.

RTÉ Television will broadcast 15 live games from the Airtricity League, an increase from 10 games last season, beginning with current League Champions, Bohemians, playing newly promoted Sporting Fingal this Friday 5th March at 7.30pm on RTÉ Two.

RTÉ Television will also broadcast both FAI Ford Cup semi-finals plus the final itself.

In addition to broadcasting 18 of the biggest games of the season, RTÉ Television will also see the return of MNS, the only dedicated Irish soccer programme at the brand new time of 7.00pm each Monday.

Con Murphy will present the best analysis and discussion from the panel, which this year includes new signings former Drogheda United and Cork City manager Paul Doolin, and former Republic of Ireland International and Sligo Rovers striker Paul McGee.

MNS will feature highlights of every top-flight Airtricity League match throughout the season so fans will get the opportunity to watch every crucial goal, tackle, shot and save. This season's MNS promises new features like 'Cult Heroes' as well as League managers having their say in studio.

RTÉ.ie will stream all RTÉ Television Airtricity League coverage live worldwide at www.rte.ie/sport. MNS and live match programmes will also be made available on-demand around the world so regardless of location fans in Bray, Berlin or Bangkok will be able to keep up to date and see all the goals from their favourite teams.

Last season the MNS website had close to half a million page impressions from fans all over the world and this season MNS will be striking out further online with fans able to follow MNS on Twitter and Facebook.
