FAI YOUTH CUP PREVIEW DUNDALK PLAYERSCOPE

DUNDALK PLAYERSCOPE
Donal Greene (Goalkeeper)

Donal Greene the Dundalk goalkeeper feels Sunday's game will be a defining moment for the young Louth men. “We're trying to stay relaxed about it. We have learned from our previous games in the competition that sometimes the hype can get to you. We are all trying not to get caught up in all that.”

“We have put a lot of hard work into getting this far. We're are currently top of the DDSL Under 18 Super League and know Pats very well. We're expecting a tough challenge as we know home advantage can be crucial at this stage of the competition."

Donal feels that the squad is in a very positive mood ahead of the semi-final.

“We are confident of doing well having already won in Inchicore. Billy Smith has been banging them in this season and Shane Greene has been a different class since he came back from injury.”

"We certainly are having a fantastic season. This is my fourth season in the youth team and while in previous years we may have had more talented individuals, the lads this year have been fantastic. They are extremely dedicated; there are always 14 – 16 lads at training. We all listen to our manager Stephen and our coaches Tommy and Cronin. We're all keen to learn.”

Greene continued, “Our preparation has been good and we feel we are ready. All the lads are confident we can do well on Sunday.”
