18'S THROUGH TO FERRARI CUP FINAL
OUR 18's responded well to their FAI Youth Cup Semi Final defeat against Dundalk to pick themselves up off the floor and book a place in the Ferrari Cup Final.
Manager Alan Ryan made three changes to the starting line up and the team responded. Pats got off to a great start with two well taken goals from David Fagan and Kevin Keenan. That saw the Inchicore outfit go in with a 2-0 lead at halftime.
A timely reminder at the break that against Dundalk they had let a halftime lead slip, saw Pats take the pitch determined to build on their lead. Pats pushed forward but Keenan failed to take any of the three opportunities that came his way.
St Mary's as was to be expected threw everything forward as the game entered its final stages to try to claw their way back into the game, but Pat's keeper Mark Gibbons was equal to anything thrown at him.
Ryan said afterwards, “The team can now look forward to the final on May 11th and with places in the starting eleven for the final up for grabs it will keep everyone on their toes in our final league fixtures.”
"Just one final note, I'd like to thank Paddy Cassidy for the use of the CIE Ranch grounds on Sunday," finished Ryan.
