The Big Kick Off - Schoolboy Soccer Is Back

OUR UNDER AGE teams launch their respective league and cup campaigns for the 2005/06 campaign this weekend. First out of the blocks are our Under 11's, Under 14's and Under 16's. The following weekend will see the remainder of our schoolboy teams take to the field.

Our Under 11's kick off their season away to Knocklyon United on Saturday followed on Monday at home to Ballyfermot United. This will be their first season playing on a full size pitch and 11-a-side football. The 11's have had two good wins in their warm up games beating Kilnamanagh 2-1 away and Crumlin United 3-0 at home.

Our Under 14's start life in the Premier Division having won the Under 13 Major title last year. Billy Short feels his side is coming together nicely and is looking forward to building on last season's performance. Last Saturday the 14's finished their preparations with a 5-1 win over Naas. They now kick off against Portmarnock away this Saturday and then it is Home Farm in Brickfields on Wednesday.

Brian Dalton's Under 16's return home from a recent tour of the UK ready for action. Their campaign sees Drogheda Boys visit on Sunday and they s head for DNG Park to take on St Joseph's Boys on Tuesday.

Best of luck to all three teams.
