ST PATS PLAYERS IN CHARITY WAX-A-THON
Well used to the hard tackles and knocks of the football pitch, St Patrick's Athletic players Ryan Guy and John Lester faced a different type of pain when they recently signed up for a charity waxathon.
Organised by a local beauty salon, the fundraiser in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation was held in McDowells of Inchicore on Wednesday night.
The players found themselves in the capable hands of the ladies from the nearby Salon Rouge who made sure their pain was kept to a minimum.
Well done to the organisers - Salon Rouge, to the generous supporters and sponsors and to all the brave volunteers on the night who helped raise almost €5,000 for the Foundation's fight against breast cancer.
St Patrick's Athletic will be travelling to take on Galway United in the League this Friday and then the Saints host Shamrock Rovers in the second round of the EA Sports Cup on the bank holiday Monday with a 3.00pm Kick off at Richmond Park.
