COMMUNITY GARDA MATCH HELD AT RICHMOND PARK
St Patrick's Athletic were delighted to once again host the annual Garda match between the local stations of Kilmainham and Kevin Street last Tuesday afternoon at Richmond Park.
A very tight game ended 2-2 and in a sudden death penalty play off, Kevin Street gardai held their nerve to win the match and the bragging rights for another year.
Up to 300 pupils from local primary schools were also in attendance to cheer on their local station and to create a great match atmosphere.
Since the end of the season a number of community matches have been played at Richmond Park.
To allow some much needed repair and maintenance work to be undertaken on the pitch no further matches will be permitted to be played at the ground until February next year.
