YOUNG SAINTS PREPARE FOR SEASON
Pete Mahon's new look Saints continued their preparation for the 2010 season with a two goal victory over Longford Town at Richmond Park last tonight (Wed 10th Feb).
There were 13 new signings in action for the St Pat's including 19 year old Gareth Coughlan who made it 2-0 to the home side with minutes remaining.
The average age of the Saints squad is just 24, something that the Pete Mahon is well aware of “we'll be looking to experienced players like Dave Mulcahy along with Damian Lynch and Stuart Byrne to help bring on the younger players this season”.
He added “we've signed a number of good young players, some perhaps still to reach their potential but all are hungry and eager to play”.
Assistant Saints coach John Gill is in no doubt as to the type of players they've signed and what is expected of them for the season ahead “we've put a lot of thought into the type of players we want to work with, we're looking for good young players with strong work ethic and the right attitude- it's not enough to just have ability - full commitment is what we'll be looking for” .
The new look Saints side are in action this Saturday when they entertain Limerick FC at Richmond Park kick off 7.45pm.
Tickets are on sale €10 adult and €5 concession from the club shop.
The club are running a special Valentine's Weekend offer of 2 for the price of 1 for all couples attending the game!
