SHAMROCK ROVERS 1 - 0 SAINTS

A Gary Twigg second half goal was enough to ends the Saints' 14 match unbeaten league run.

In warm conditions in Tallaght stadium the first half was a tough, but even affair with both sides creating few chances and four players entering the referee's book.

The breakthrough came from Rovers early in the second half and though the Saints threw everything at them in the closing stages they could not muster an equaliser.
