Ladies Off To A Flyer
St Pat's Ladies got their season off to a winning start last Monday with a 2-0 win over Greenpark thanks to goals from Marie Crowe and Trisha Dorman.
Despite a scrappy opener from Pat's which saw them both miss a first half penalty and rely on keeper Leanne McDonnell on a few occasions, the Saints were the stronger side in the second half with Asho Woods, Sarah Kiely, Ciara Corby and Nicola Scott excelling.
Five minutes into the second half, Woods played the ball forward to Kiely whose flick on found the onrushing Marie Crowe who struck home from the edge of the area.
From that moment, the Saints controlled the game, however they didn't victory until five minutes from the end. A Woods' corner from the left found the head of Dorman who made no mistake from close range.
