Saint Stars In Irish Win
St. Patrick's Athletic U19 midfielder Tom Mulroney played the full 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland's under 19 side as they defeated Azerbaijan 2-0 in the Angelholms Stadium in Sweden in Ireland's first game of the Uefa U19 Championships qualifying tournament.
Alan O'Sullivan and Alex O'Hanlon were Ireland's goalscorers who now prepare for their next game against Sweden on Saturday with the game starting at 3pm.
Mulroney has previously played at U18 and schoolboy level for the Republic of Ireland, while he has first team experience with Liam Buckley's squad having started in the Saints' 2-1 win over Shelbourne in the semi-finals of the Leinster Senior Cup.
Tom is the third player to play international football for Ireland while with the Saints this season. In February Ryan Coombes (now with Bray Wanderers) also played for the under 19's, while Chris Forrester earned two caps for the Ireland under 21's this season.
