Team News: St Pat's Vs UCD
St Patrick's Athletic face UCD tomorrow night (Friday, August 15th) in the first of two home games at this weekend, kick-off at Richmond Park is 8pm.
Liam Buckley's side will be looking to extend their winning streak at Richmond Park to 9 league games when they take on Aaron Callaghan's side.
Following last week's disappointed loss to Cork City, Buckey's side will be looking to get back to winning ways and closing the gap on the league leaders.
“I thought we worked hard and we created a number of chances. I think a draw would have been a fair result but we were undone by that late spectacular goal.
“We have two games this weekend but our focus is on the visit of UCD first and we will set out to win the game.
“Aaron Callaghan's teams are always well organized and we expect a difficult game but I believe we have the players to win the game.”
In team news, Buckley is without the services of Mark Quiqley who both serves a one match suspension. Ken Oman is a doubt with a calf strain while James Chambers will face a late fitness test ahead of the game. Chris Forrester and Seán Hoare return to the squad having served their respective suspensions.
Stats
St Pat's have won their last 8 league matches at Richmond Park. On Friday we'll be looking to extend this to 9. It has been achieved only 3 times before.
After losing our first ever home league game in 1951/52, the team would go on to win the remaining 10 home games on their way to winning the league.
Our record home winning streak lasts 12 games and covers 2 league winning seasons from April 1955 to March 1956. Only a defeat in the last game denied the 55/56 team of a perfect home record that season.
The last time 9 was achieved also covered 2 league titles, from April to December in 1998.
The Saints have scored 26 times in the current winning streak with Christy Fagan on target 10 times.
