McGrath Stars In Irish Win
Supersaint Jamie McGrath scored twice on his second international starting appearance for the Republic of Ireland under 19's in a comfortable 6-0 over Azerbaijan in Tallaght Stadium on Wednesday night.
Jamie played 63 minutes in total, scoring a goal either side of half-time - his first a deflected shot across goal that deceived Azerbaijan keeper Aghaseyid Gasimov, while his second was a spectacular lob from outside the box that beat the keeper.
Wednesday's game was Jamie's fourth international appearance for his country at this level having featured in all of the under 19's Uefa U19 Championship qualifiers in November against Malta, Gibraltar and Switzerland.

Republic of Ireland U19 manager Paul Doolin was full of praise for his players after the Azerbaijan game, and singled out a few players for their goalscoring exploits, including Jamie. “We've a few new players that we were having a look at and it's a change of team again as we never give the impression to any of the squads we have that there is a first XI and a second XI. We want to keep it balanced,” he said.
“I felt that some of the goals we scored were outstanding – Jamie McGrath's chip to make it 3-0, Jack Hallahan finished off a great move and Ryan Manning also scored a great goal.
Doolin's side face Azerbaijan once more this Friday in Tallaght Stadium with the game kicking-off at 3pm.
