Galway United Sign David Cawley From St Patrick's Athletic
Galway United have snapped up David Cawley from St Patrick's Athletic.
The former Ipswich Town and Sligo Rovers midfielder, 25, has signed a one-year deal with the option of a second.
And the Mayo man revealed it was the ambition of new Tribesmen boss Shane Keegan that sealed the deal.
Cawley said: "Shane's ambition is there, it matches mine. We both want to move forward, we both want to be successful.
"Hopefully we can get the right start. Galway United is a club with great potential and I wanted to be a part of it."
Galway boss Keegan said: "David is a player I've admired from afar for the last two or three years.
"He's a central midfielder capable of controlling a game and stamping his authority on it. He'll bring great leadership to the side, on top of his obvious playing ability."
