St Patrick's Athletic have rewarded manager John McDonnell with a new contract following an impressive start to the season.
The Super Saints are currently second in the eircom Premier Division, top of their Setanta Sports Cup group, into the fourth round of the FAI Ford Cup, and about to start on a quest to qualify for the Uefa Cup.
So the Inchicore outfit have decided to hand a new deal to McDonnell, who has been at the helm since 2004, as they look to build a solid structure that will keep them challenging in every competition for years to come.
Chief Executive Richard Sadlier expressed his delight at the news and he fully expects the Dublin club to be successful this season after coming so close last term.
"Johnny [McDonnell] has done a really good job," stated Sadlier.
"Last year the club finished second in the Premier Division and we all believe we can go one better this season.
"He has built a strong squad, works extremely hard and has progressed with his coaching qualifications extremely well.
"I am delighted he has agreed to extend his contract."
