Eddie Gormley Nets For New Club On Debut

Former St Patrick's Athletic and Bray Wanderers midfield maestro Eddie Gormley scored on his debut for his new club, Pearse Club 61 on Sunday against Clondalkin outfit Alpine Express in the first round of the Leinster Senior League's Polikoff Cup.

Gormley picked up the ball 35 yards out and let fly with one of his trademark strikes to help the Sallynoggin side beat their Clondalkin rivals 4-1.

The 37 year old, nicknamed Hagi, signed for Bray Wanderers from St Pat's, where he picked up two eircom league championship medals, in 2000 and annouced his retirement from senior football in November 2004 though still played some for Bray in the meantime
