Bohs Hoping That Skipper Kevin Hunt Will Be Fit To Face Cork

Bohemians v Cork City, Dalymount Park, 7.45pm
Cork can stretch their lead at the top of the eircom League, Premier division with a victory at Dalymount Park. City’s form away from home has let them down this season, having won just once on their travels but they are in good spirits after beating Drogheda 1-0 last Friday.
A win for Damien Richardson’s side would put them at least two points clear at the top, while the gap would extend to three if Shelbourne don’t beat St Patrick’s Athletic this evening.
Danny Murphy returns to the Cork squad after serving a two-match ban and will be vying to replace his deputy during that suspension, Billy Woods, at left-back.
Bohemians realise they will be consigned to a bottom half of the table struggle if they don’t get something from the game but their cause won’t be helped if skipper Kevin Hunt doesn’t shake of ’flu in time for the game. Goalkeeper Stephen O’Brien makes his comeback from suspension.

Longford Town v Bray Wanderers, Flancare Park, 7.45pm
Its catch-up time for Longford, the team with the least games played thus far in the Premier Division. The lack of matches has contributed to their lowly position in the table but manager Alan Matthews will be hoping that the extended World Cup break gives his side the zest they need to clinch their second win of the campaign. Skipper Alan Murphy will sit out the match after receiving a ban due to the four bookings he incurred so far.
His opposite captain in the Bray colours, Colm Tresson, should be fit enough to return after missing last Friday’s 3-1 victory over Waterford because of hamstring trouble.

Shelbourne v St. Patrick’s Athletic, Tolka Park, 8pm
This is a vital fixture for Dublin rivals, Shels and Pats, currently occupying fourth and fifth positions in the league respectively. Home side Shelbourne are on a high after coasting through the first round of the UEFA Intertoto Cup at the weekend and have defender Dave Rogers back in contention for a starting place after been suspended. Alan Reynolds will continue to anchor the Reds’ midfield if Alan Moore doesn’t recover from the injury that kept him out of Saturday’s 4-0 win over FK Vetra.

Pats’ slender title hopes will almost certainly disappear if they suffer defeat at Tolka but they have a good record against Shels and were unlucky not to win the drawn game at Richmond Park early in the season when they surrendered a two goal lead. Dave Mulcahy is back to bolster their squad.
