Richmond Park Pitch Improvements

Work commenced at 8am this morning on improving the surface of the pitch at Richmond Park.

Over 90 tonnes of sand was spread out on the pitch and a spiking process will help the drainage system and growth of the grass.

Due to the fixture congestion with the Setanta Cup and eircom League fixtures, the work had to wait until this weekend before commencing.

It will take number of weeks for the improvements to take affect, but it is hoped that the majority of the work will be ready for the fixture against Drogheda United on Monday, May 21st.

The eircom League Cup fixture against UCD on the May Bank Holiday Monday will not be affected by the ground work.
