“One of the most impressive features of the Europa game between the Saints and Steaua Bucharest at the RDS last week was the support and passion of the Romanian football supporters”, said long-time Pat's fan Niall Hannigan, “and it would be great to bring some of that noise and colour to our own league”.

Following a discussion with St Pat's club promotion officer Declan White, a small allocation of match tickets is being made available for Romanian football fans to come along as guests of St Pat's at the upcoming League game between St Patrick's Athletic and Cork City on 25th September at Richmond Park.

The offer to attend a match night at Richmond Park as well as a challenge to take on the St Pat's fans in a friendly football match has been highlighted to the Romanian Community through community websites and through key contacts made in the run up to the Europa League game.

“It was great to see football bringing the Romanian and Irish communities together on the night at the RDS and perhaps that is something we should all try and build on”, said Pat's CEO Richard Sadlier

Romanians interested in playing in the fans friendly or in attending the League match at Richmond Park in September can contact Niall Hannigan on 085 8208926 or email or you can contact Ovidiu Matiut in the Romanian community on 083 3323696.

The supporters and staff of St Pat's look forward to welcoming the Romanian Community to their club.
