First Team Coach Sean O'Connor Departs
St Patrick's Athletic can confirm that First Team Coach Sean O'Connor has departed the club to become the new Head Coach of Athlone Town FC.
O'Connor had two spells as a St Patrick's Athletic player, making over 100 appearances.
He returned to Richmond Park in 2017 as our U15 Assistant Manager before taking over as U15 Manager in 2019, leading The Saints to a U15 League title in that season.
The former midfielder, who is currently undertaking his UEFA Pro Licence, joined our First Team coaching staff in 2019, and worked under Harry Kenny, Stephen O'Donnell, Tim Clancy, Jon Daly and Stephen Kenny.
Sean was part of our 2021 and 2023 FAI Cup wins, and also led our U19s to a League title as Manager in 2022 and coached in the UEFA Youth League the previous season.
He has played a key role in the development of a number of players and successes at both Academy and Senior level during his almost 10 years at the club. Everyone at the club wishes Sean well for the future.

Alongside his work in the Academy, Sean also played an important role with our First Team during the club's FAI Cup successes in 2021 and 2023, and his contribution during those seasons should not be understated.
We thank Sean for his time at St Patrick's Athletic and wish him every success in the next chapter of his journey.”
