City And Pat's To Rest Stars

  • Mon, Apr 16, 2007 @ 8:32

THERE should be an opportunity for both Cork City and St Patrick's Athletic to rest some of their more established players as Setanta Cup Group Two comes to a climax this evening.

St Pat's have already booked their place in the semi-finals as group winners and Johnny McDonnell has indicated that the trip to Shamrock Park to face Portadown this evening will be used to give a chance to some players that have been on the fringes thus far.

Therefore, the likes of Michael Foley, Sean O'Connor can expect to come into contention.

Meanwhile, Cork City are not mathematically through but tonight's visitors to Turner's Cross, Dungannon Swifts, must win by seven goals to make the semis.

City boss Damien Richardson will field senior players but Denis Behan is likely to start up front after coming off the bench in the league against Shamrock Rovers.
