Derry City are still in the "wrong" half of the League of Ireland Premier Division table as they prepare to host third placed Saint Patrick's Athletic at the Brandywell on Friday night. Derry have been a much more difficult proposition with John Robertson took over and although they are unbeaten in seven league games and have suffered just one defeat in Robertson's eleven game reign, they have yet to fire on all cylinders.

In their seven game unbeaten league run, Derry have conceded just three goals but only won three of those seven. Already trailing the top sides by some margin, they still trail sixth placed Sligo Rovers by five points.

St. Pats picked up a much needed win last weekend as they took apart Waterford United at Richmond Park. Not only did it produce three valuable points as second placed Shamrock Rovers slipped up, it halted a five game league run without a win. Even after last week's win, the Saints are a bottom three side in the League of Ireland Premier Division form table.

If the Saints can get back on track, they will be back in the mix for clinching a European and possibly a Setanta spot through the league. Pats will be looking to take advantage as second placed Shamrock Rovers and fourth placed Bohemians do not play this weekend. Avoiding defeat would send the Saints back up into second but they must surely go for the win to try and cut into Drogheda United's seven point lead at the top of the table.

The Saints are actually aiming to do the treble over Derry this year after beating them twice in the league already this season.
