St. Patrick’s Athletic manager John McDonnell reckons that the Setanta Sports Cup Group Two is wide open, despite his side taking just one point from their opening pair of fixtures.
The Saints are aiming to end Linfield’s 100 per cent record in the campaign when the sides meet tonight at Richmond Park (8.05pm, Live Setanta Sports).
McDonnell has to plan without the suspended David Patridge while also absent are midfielder Joseph N’do and Jamie Harris through injury.
Confidence is high within the Pat’s camp ahead of the camp, as they currently hold the leadership of the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division after six games played.
With 12 points still on offer for each team in the Setanta Sports Cup group, the tide in the pool may quickly change and a win tonight for the Saints would restore hopes of reaching the knock-out stages.
Linfield are without Kris Lindsay because of suspension and their injury list includes Tim McCann, Tim Mouncey and Jim Ervin.
