Juggling Act Proving To Be A Rewarding Task For Kenna

CONOR KENNA is a busy man. Juggling the commitments of his job in Tallaght Hospital, looking after his new-born baby boy and marshalling the defence of St Patrick's Athletic is a difficult task.

Nevertheless, the 25-year-old is managing just fine, and will have to clear some room on the mantelpiece after being named the Airtricity/Soccer Writers' Player of the Month for March.

Kenna, who moved to the Saints from Drogheda in the off-season, has been central to the Inchicore side's fine start, which was built on five opening clean sheets.

A loss to his former club checked the momentum somewhat, but Pete Mahon's charges can reclaim top spot with a victory over Bray this evening. However, the part-time circumstances of the Saints squad, in addition to its relatively small size, mean that it will be difficult to maintain a title charge.

"Bohs, Rovers and Fingal have the biggest squads and budgets so they are the teams you're going to look at," says Kenna. "We'll just work away game by game. We're not worried about them.

"For the award, you could have picked any of the back five."
