REILLY SIGNS FOR SAINTS
St Patrick's Athletic have signed Drogheda United midfielder Alan Reilly with Keith Fahey moving in the other direction.
The transfer, which involves an undisclosed fee being paid to the Saints, also secures the signature of former Waterford United and Bohemian FC player Reilly. Although there has been much speculation surrounding these transfers, they were only completed at 4.15pm on Friday 29th July.
Speaking exclusively to stpatsfc.com former Under-18 international Reilly explained, “It's all happened so quickly but I had no hesitation in signing for St Pats.
"They are a big club with good players and after speaking to several people in the game, all the reports I have heard have been positive.
"Players do their own homework before deciding on moves and I'm looking forward to the challenge.
"I know that Keith (Fahy) was a fans' favourite here and he's a very good player but hopefully I can have a positive impact on the club as well. The supporters at here at St Pats always make a bit of noise, which is great as a player. I'm just focussed now on to trying to move us up the table as soon as possible."
Reilly, formerly on the books of Manchester City, will train with the team prior to Sunday's clash with Cork City and will go straight into the squad for the fixture which kicks off at 3pm at Richmond Park.
