DUBLIN LORD MAYOR TO BE GUEST OF HONOUR AT RICHMOND PARK

Dublin Lord Mayor, Councillor Paddy Bourke is to attend as guest of honour the upcoming Setanta Cup Match between St Patrick's Athletic FC and Linfield FC on Tuesday 15th April.

“I am delighted that the Lord Mayor of the city has accepted our invitation to attend on the night”, said Eamonn O'Carroll, CEO of St Patrick's Athletic, “his presence at Richmond Park gives deserved recognition to both our clubs and also to the Setanta Cup Competition which has done so much to build relations between the football communities on both sides of the border.

The Lord Mayor wished both teams the very best ahead of their Setanta Cup meeting saying “as Lord Mayor of Dublin and as a keen supporter of domestic soccer in Dublin, it is an honour for me to attend Richmond Park for the match between St Patrick's Athletic FC and Linfield FC, two great clubs with great traditions in football.

Setanta Sports have, since the inauguration of the Setanta Sports Cup competition in 2005, created another element to cross-border relations through sport.

Football Clubs have a very important role to play in developing individual and team skills and communities throughout Dublin and Ireland have benefited and will continue to benefit from their presence”.

The Setanta Cup Sports match between St Patrick's Athletic and Linfield kicks off at 8.05pm on Tuesday 15th April.
