MAHON – HAPPY TO BE IN SEMI FINAL DRAW
Having knocked holders Sporting Fingal out of the Ford FAI Cup on Saturday, Saints Boss Pete Mahon shared his thoughts with stpatsfc.com ahead of the semi-final draw tonight.
“Every week we give 100%, we get a bit of stick from some people over how we play but if Fingal play the beautiful game and we’ve beaten them today, we can’t be too bad.
I’m just happy to be in the semi’s.
I said at the start of the season that we would be happy to win the cup and maybe I was putting a bit of pressure on myself but that’s still the case.
There’s somebody’s name on the cup and it could just as easily be ours.
They’re all good sides left so what we’ll be looking for now is a home draw.
We’re in the semi-final of the FAI Cup nothing else really matters to me, we’ll enjoy the rest of the weekend and then we’ll get our heads together for Dundalk here on Friday”.
St Patrick’s athletic play Dundalk on Friday 24th Sept at Richmond Park, Inchicore with a 7.45pm kick off.
Tickets will go on sale from the club shop the Saints Super Store this week.
