ST PAT’S U-20’s DEFEAT SHELBOURNE
The St Pat’s under 20’s side had to dig deep to defeat Shelbourne on Tuesday night as they found themselves 1-0 down early in the second half.
The Saints picked up the tempo in the second half but manger Paul Somers was disappointed with the opening period “we didn’t start the game at a decent pace and paid the price for that”.
“To be fair we really got at them once they went ahead, added Somers, “Kevin O’Leary scored two fine individual goals to add to his hat-trick against Bohemians in the last match”.
“Our fitness levels began to show and though we never got the third goal to consoldiate the win we were in control of the match for most of the second half” said Somers.
The win keeps the St Pat’s side on track to qualify from their group as they face their final game away to Athlone Town on Monday night, kick off 7.45pm.
