Conor Kane And JJ Lunney Named In Irish U19 Squad

St Patrick's Athletic players Conor Kane and JJ Lunney have been included in the Republic of Ireland U19 squad for two friendly international games against Austria at Tallaght Stadium next month.

The games will take place on Sunday, September 4 (7.00pm), and at the same venue again on Tuesday, September 6 (1.00pm).

"Since the end of last season we've had up to 60 players in for assessment including home-based squads and a UK-based players training camp so we've seen a lot of players," commented Republic of Ireland Coach and former Finn Harps star Tom Mohan.

"The players at this age group qualified for the UEFA U17 Championships Finals in Bulgaria last year and there's good belief in this group. A lot of them have gained a lot of experience having played international since U15's and were picked at U19 last season."

Both Kane and Lunney are two of only three League of Ireland players selected in the squad, with Dundalk's Michael O'Connor the only other inclusion.
