St Patrick's Athletic make the short trip to Tallaght Stadium on Friday night as they face rivals Shamrock Rovers in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division (kick-off 8pm).
Friday's meeting is the second fixture between the sides in 2017 after the Saints claimed a 2-1 home win against the
Hoops thanks to goals from Kurtis Byrne and Josh O'Hanlon back in April.
The Saints have an impressive record from their recent games in Tallaght Stadium against the home side with Liam Buckley's side unbeaten in the venue in their last five meetings in both league and cup competitions.
Speaking to stpatsfc.com ahead of the game, manager Liam Buckley admitted that the Saints are expecting a close fought game based on the nature of the game between the sides back in April.
"The game earlier in the season between the sides was very closely fought on the day, with Rovers also being reduced to 10 men. We edged it that day but generally speaking there's always very little between the sides."
"It's a Dublin derby so you can expect the game to have a quick tempo and for there to be a lot of incidents. We are looking to bounce back from last week's defeats to Harps and Dundalk so the lads have been looking to put things right in training during training so we have a chance to get a result on Friday."
In team news, Buckley remains without the services of Darren Dennehy through injury, while brother Billy Dennehy also misses out having picked up a hamstring injury in training.
Tickets for the game will be available for Saints' supporters from Tallaght Stadium on the night
