Richmond Park Set For First Under-age Final Of The 2018 Season

Richmond Park is set for a Dublin Derby in the final of the SSE Airtricity League U19 Enda McGuill Cup.

Bohemians make the short journey across to St Patrick's Athletic in a repeat of last season's SSE Airtricity U19 League Cup Final, in which Bohemians claimed a narrow 1-0 win.

Bohemians are set to find out who they face in the UEFA Youth League in the Domestic Champions path tomorrow afternoon, following Cork City and UCD who've also competed in Europe's elite youth competition.

Both sides secured difficult away victories in the semi-finals of the competition, as Pats claimed a 3-1 win over Finn Harps and Bohemians secured a 4-1 win over Limerick.

Ahead of the game, Bohemians' U19 Head Coach Craig Sexton believes St Patrick's Athletic are the favourites.

"We've only played St Pat's once this season and they've beaten us, they're six points ahead of us in the division and they're at home," Sexton said.

"They will be favourites. When we played them at IT Blanchardstown in May, St Pat's scored twice in the last seven minutes to win 3-1.

It was a tight game up until then. We've had good battles with St Pat's in recent seasons and I expect it will be another tight game tomorrow.

"It's a final, a one-off game so anything can happen. We will be going there determined and focused."

Pats are currently top of the SSE Airtricity League U19 Northern Elite Division, six points ahead of Bohemians who are in second spot.

St Patrick's Athletic defender Luke McNally believes Pats have had a difficult route to the final and will be fully prepared on the night.

"It's going to be a difficult final, every game we play with Bohs has been tough over the last few years and I'm expecting tomorrow to be no different," McNally said.

"We've had it difficult, we had to come through a tough test in the semi-final at Finn Harps but also had to get past UCD in the second round which is always difficult.

"We've had a good season so far so we must take our form into tomorrow night. Obviously, being at home, it might give us that extra edge but we're ready."

The Enda McGuill Cup Final kicks-off at 7.30pm tonight at Richmond Park and tickets are available on the gate.
