Futbolo klubas Hegelmann, commonly known as Hegelmann, is a Lithuanian professional football club located in Raudondvaris in Kaunas district. Before January 2022, the club was named FC Hegelmann Litauen. They play in the A Lyga, the first tier of Lithuanian football. They qualified for the UEFA Conference League having finished league runners-up last season.
Club History and Achievements
Early Years (2009–2018): Initially competing in the lower divisions, FC Hegelmann achieved first place in the 2018 II Lyga, earning promotion to the I Lyga, Lithuania's second tier.
Promotion to A Lyga (2020): After finishing second in the I Lyga in 2020, the club secured promotion to the A Lyga, Lithuania's top division.
Top Division Performance: In their debut A Lyga season (2021), FC Hegelmann finished fifth. They improved to fourth place in 2022, qualifying for the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers. In their first European match, they faced North Macedonia's KF Shkupi, drawing 0–0 away but losing 0–5 at home.
Lithuanian Cup Finalists: The club reached the final of the 2022 Lithuanian Football Cup, narrowly losing 1–2 after extra time to FK Zalgiris. In 2024, they again reached the final but were defeated 4–1 on penalties by Banga after a 0–0 draw.
