Robinson Joins On Loan
St Patrick's Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Darren Robinson on loan from Derby County.
Robinson began his career at Portadown before joining Dungannon Swifts in 2019, making his First Team debut in May 2021, he transferred to Derby County a few days later.
Having impressed for Derby's youth sides and U23s, Darren made his senior bow off the bench in a 3-1 defeat to Bristol City in April 2022.
The 20-year-old Northern Ireland U21 international was named Derby County 'Scholar of the Year' in 2022 and 2023. He also had a loan spell at Hartlepool United for the first half of the 2024/25 season.
Robinson, who will wear the number 26 at Richmond Park, is delighted to be a Saint:
"I'm happy to be here. Things moved quite quickly and it was great to get everything done and get over to Dublin and straight into training. I've had really good conversations with Ger O'Brien and The Gaffer (Stephen Kenny), which was a big pull in coming here too.
I left home at 16 from Dungannon Swifts to join Derby so I'm in my 5th season now, I need to get some senior games now and feel this is a great opportunity for me in the League of Ireland with St Pat's.
Everyone has welcomed me and help me settle, I know a few of boys too which is nice. It's brilliant here, we have unbelievable facilities and have everything we need, I enjoyed training this morning and can't wait to hit the ground running now. We've got lots of big games to come and I'm excited to get going:"

"Darren is a holding midfield player who is highly regarded at Derby County. He is very professional and has an excellent attitude and has Captained Northern Ireland U21s.
With the injuries to Romal Palmer and Zach Elbouzedi, the timing of Darren's arrival is opportune. We feel he has the overall quality that can help us for the remainder of the season on loan from Derby."
