Robinson began his career at Portadown before joining Dungannon Swifts in 2019, making his First Team debut in May 2021, he transferred to Derby County a few days later.

Having impressed for Derby's youth sides and U23s, Darren made his senior bow off the bench in a 3-1 defeat to Bristol City in April 2022.

The 20-year-old Northern Ireland U21 international was named Derby County "Scholar of the Year" in 2022 and 2023. He also had a loan spell at Hartlepool United for the first half of the 2024-25 season.
