St Patrick's Athletic suffered late heartbreak in Ballybofey on Friday night.

Leading 2-0 thanks to a Billy King double, they conceded two goals in the final minutes to draw 2-2 against Finn Harps, the equaliser coming in the 97th minute.

The Saints started brightly and could have been ahead as early as the 2nd minute after Eoin DoyleÃƒÂ¢â‚¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s pass sent Darragh Burns through but goalkeeper Gavin Mulreany made an excellent save from point blank range, it was the first in a string of top stops from the Finn Harps number 99.

After a positive start, St Pat's hit the front in the 6th minute, King finished well first time after a great move involving Anto Breslin and Mark Doyle.

A pass of the season contender from Captain Chris Forrester almost set up Eoin Doyle for a second, but Mulreany was quick off his line to block.

The second-half began like the first with the away side creating the better chances, but Mulreany again denied Doyle.

St Pat's doubled their advantage in the 68th minute after some excellent individual skill from King ended in him smashing it beyond Mulreany with his left foot from outside the box.

Harps got one back to make it 2-1 in the 88th minute from a set piece finished by Jose Carrillo before the 97th minute winner after a scramble in the box, Ethan Boyle headed home to earn the home side a share of the spoils.

Attention now quickly turns to Monday's Dublin Derby at home to Shamrock Rovers with tickets on sale now, kick-off at Richmond Park is at 7.45pm
