St. Patrick's Athletic's third high profile pre-season friendly saw them defeated by Crewe Alexandra at Richmond Park on Tuesday evening.
Crewe went in front after just four minutes when Kenny Lunt sent in a corner which centre forward Paul Tait headed firmly past Seamus Kelly in the St Patrick's goal.
Pat's, however, only took 14 minutes to pull level when Martin Russell's corner from the left was met by centre back Colm Foley who made no mistake with his head.
Eight minutes before the break the visitors leapt back in front when Mark Rivers raced onto a long ball out of defence from David Wright to fire in a shot which deflected off Foley on its way into the net.
While the first-half was as intense as pre-season matches come, the second greatly disappointed as Pat's, having made no less than ten substitutions during the interval, never got back into the game.
