REDS ON THE RISE - U16 NEVILLE CUP

St Pats win 8-7 on penalties
The Neville Cup found its way back to Inchicore following a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over St Kevin’s Boys.
In a hard fought match the better chances came St Pat’s way, but Kevin’s keeper Matthew O’Sullivan was equal to everything.
Pats thought they had nicked the game right at the death when Dean Dunphy’s long throw in was guided goalward by centre-forward Graham Dixon, for once O’Sullivan was beaten, but the ball hit the post and was cleared to safety.
The penalty shoot-out saw Graham Reilly miss St Pats second penalty and give Kevin’s the upper hand. Pats needed keeper Ciaran Dodd to save and he delivered on the Whitehall club’s 4th penalty.
4 all and to sudden death.
With the score tied at 7-all, Dodd saved with his feet and set up Aaron Doyle to win the cup. Doyle made no mistake and blasted home the winning penalty.
