SAINTS FACE BIG TEST IN SAMARA
A media briefing was held yesterday in Samara where St Pat’s manager Jeff Kenna shared his thoughts on the challenge they face against Russian side Krylya Sovetov in this evening's 2nd leg of their 3rd round qualifier in the Europa League.
“The team are in good condition and confident especially after Sunday’s win against Dundalk.
We played really well in the first leg and especially in the second half of that game so we must try and repeat that level of performance tomorrow tonight.
We know it’s going to be hard, we’ve a goal lead to protect and they’re going to come at us, they’re a big team with a big support and something like over 20,000 are expected at the game.
Yes it will be a huge test for us but a good performance and a good result would be absolutely massive for this club and for the league and that’s what we’re aiming for.” – Jeff Kenna.
The team trained for over an hour last night at the stadium.
After resting this morning the team will enjoy a pre-match meal before traveling at 4.45pm (local time) with a police escort to the Stadium.
