Ryan Edmondson Joins St Pat's
St Patrick's Athletic are delighted to announce to signing of Ryan Edmondson from Central Coast Mariners, subject to international clearance.
The 24-year-old striker arrives in Inchicore after two seasons and a treble in Australia.
Edmondson began his career at York City, making his senior debut at 15 before joining Leeds United and playing in the Championship as a 16-year-old against QPR in May 2018.
He had loan spells at Aberdeen, Northampton Town, Fleetwood Town and Port Vale before joining Carlisle United on a two-year contract in June 2022.
Ryan won promotion from EFL League 2 via the play-offs at Wembley Stadium twice, with Port Vale in 2022 and Carlisle United in 2023.
Edmondson's two years in Australia saw him win the A League Championship (23/24), scoring two goals in the final, A League Premiership (23/24) and AFC Cup (2024) with Central Coast Mariners.
Our newest recruit will wear the number 27 and has been telling us about joining the club:
"It's great to be here. It's a big move for me coming from the other side of the world and it's taken a long time traveling to get here, but I'm really excited and hopefully myself and the club can have a really successful period together.
I was coming towards the end of my contract at The Mariners and we were looking to come back towards European football and things like that. The Gaffer (Stephen Kenny) rang me and explained his ambitions and where he wants the club to go and that really drove me towards signing. He thinks that I can add to the squad and play a part in that.
We're halfway through the the season in Australia so I'm already match fit and up to speed so I'll be able to get involved straight away with the boys on the training pitch and let's hope when it comes to February 8th we can go to Aviva Stadium, collect three points and give the fans something to cheer for."

Having added Ronan Boyce, Max Mata and Darragh Nugent already, Manager Stephen Kenny has been welcoming his latest signing:
"At just 24 year of age, Ryan has packed a lot into his career already and has played a lot of games, he is an exciting signing for us.
He is a traditional number 9 and can score different types of goals. He's coming off a successful period in his career in Australia and has performed well there. Ryan felt it was time to come back to this part of the world so the timing has worked well.
He will integrate into the group straight away, he has a strong personality and will bring a lot to the dressing room.
We feel Ryan can have a positive impact here and be a successful signing for St Pat's."
While Sporting Director Ger O'Brien added
"We're very pleased to bring Ryan to the club. He's a real presence on and off the pitch, is a strong character and a very ambitious person. I'm looking forward to watching him in St Patrick's Athletic colours over the next number of years."
