Glory Nzingo Returns To The Saints
St Patrick's Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of Glory Nzingo, who returns to Richmond Park from Swansea City on a permanent deal, subject to international clearance.
The Ireland U21 international recently returned to Swansea following a loan spell at MLS Next Pro outfit Carolina Core, where he scored nine goals in 27 games.
Nzingo (now 21) arrived at the St Patrick's Athletic Academy in January 2019 from Cherry Orchard and played a key role in our U15 League and Cup double that season.
He made his first senior appearance for the club in a mid-season friendly against Chelsea at Richmond Park in July 2019, aged 14, before being involved in our U19 League title win in December 2020.
He moved to French side Stade de Reims in the summer of 2021 and has spent the last five-and-a-half years playing across France, the US and Wales.
Nzingo has been training with St Pat's for the last number of weeks and featured in pre-season friendlies against Wexford FC, in which he scored, Bray Wanderers, Cork City and Treaty United.
Glory becomes our fifth new signing ahead of the 2026 campaign and says he is delighted to be back:
"It feels great. I'm blessed to be in such a good environment. It's been good, the lads have really helped me settle in, the Manager and the staff have been great with me since I've been here so it's been quite easy settling in which I'm very happy with.
We had to get this deal done before the end of the transfer window, and having spoken to Stephen I really liked his plan and where he wants the club to go, the team seems very ambitious and I wanted to be a part of it.
I had some very nice moments here before in the Academy, winning, and the people and the club and I want to do that again."

Manager Stephen Kenny said:
"Glory has packed a lot into such a young career at Stade de Reims and Swansea City as well as his loan in the US in Carolina.
He's a local boy from Blanchardstown, and did brilliantly in the St Pat's Academy and the underage international teams before he moved away.
We've been delighted that he's spent last 2 weeks with us and played in a number of the pre-season games, it's been a good opportunity for us to work with him closely.
Glory is quite a dynamic player who has unique individual qualities, a high technical level, quick feet, and a versatility to play as a creative midfield player or as a forward.
He has a great affinity with the club, and we welcome him back as a professional player now, he's fitted in well with his teammates and he will be an important part of our squad."
While Sporting Director Ger O'Brien has also welcomed Glory back to the club:
"It's great to have Glory back at St Patrick's Athletic. He had a very successful few years here in our Academy before moving to France.
Glory is a very talented player with a lot of potential and hopefully he can unlock that here.
He has shown a really good attitude over the last few weeks in training and in the games and it's great that he wanted to come back to the club. We looking forward to working with him and seeing the impact he can make."
