Eddie Gormley

A product of St Joseph's Boy's in Sallynoggin, Eddie made his debut for Bray Wanderers in September 1987.
His outstanding skills encouraged Tottenham Hotspur to sign him two months later .
In the summer of 1990 he moved to Doncaster Rovers for whom he played over 150 games and was voted their 'Player of the Year' for two seasons including his his final year there 1992-93.
Eddie moved back to Ireland and joined Drogheda United , moving to St Patrick's Athletic in December 1993.
He made an immediate impact and was given the title of 'Hagi' by the St Pat's fans, comparing him to the Romanian genius who was at the height of his powers at the time.
Eddie won three League Championship medals and one FAI Cup runner-up medal with the 'Saints' in a golden era of the late '90s.
With Paul Osam and Martin Russell, Eddie made up one of the best midfields in League of Ireland history.
